Engineers at Toyota have developed a new smart concept car that monitors your face to help predict what you8217;ll want to do next.
The 8216;insect8217; car developed by the Japanese automobile company has motion sensors, voice recognition and behaviour prediction technology to monitor the driver8217;s face and activate in-cabin features, foglights.
It posseses a destination setting in the smartphone satellite navigation, that interprets the information,8217;Carsguide.com.au8217; reported.
The concept car also talks to the drivers they recognise as they approach the car, flashing its lights and typing 8220;hello8221; and other responses on its instrument panel monitor, and opening the door at a wave of the hand.
The car is linked to a 8220;virtual agent8221; by a cloud connection at Toyota, which changes the settings remotely, and also connects to the driver8217;s home, allowing them to reset the car8217;s locks and air conditioning before they head out the door.
The company unveiled the Smart Insect 8211; an acronym for Information Network Social Electric City Transporter 8211; at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies CEATEC which began on Tuesday near Tokyo.
