NF Railway shows healthy performance

Increase in both passenger and freight earnings have boosted revenues of the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway during 2011-12.

The gross apportioned earnings of the Guwahati- headquartered NF Railway on originating basis in 2011-12 stood at Rs 2,808.28 crore as against Rs 2,616.06 in the previous financial year,a growth of 7.34 per cent.

on supply of wagons,quick release of wagons and improvement in loading/unloading terminals,” NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer S Hajong said.

The total goods earnings of NF Railway went up by 9.83 per cent to Rs 1,435.10 in 2011-12 from Rs 1,307.09 crore in 2010-11.

Similarly,total passenger revenue earnings of NF Railway in 2011-12 were Rs 648.67 crore as compared to Rs 586.75 crore in the last fiscal,a jump of 10.55 per cent.

The revenue earnings from other coaching segments stood at Rs 105.56 crore in the last fiscal compared to Rs 104.69 crore,a marginal rise of 0.83 per cent.

The total originating loading from stations in NF Railway in 2011-12 was 13.04 million tonnes,which was the highest in last five fiscal years.
