Need leaders from science,engineering

In the recent past,we have lived through a period of excessive pessimism and negativism. Our society has been experiencing a revolution of rising expectations. Hopes are high but are often not realised, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said at the 50th convocation of the IIT-Bombay on Saturday.

He stressed the need for leaders from science and engineering and not just from politics,sports and cinema.

On the economy,he said: I know in past year Indias economy has slowed but8230; we can go back to the growth rate of 8 to 9 per cent.
