Nayantara now gets ready to play the heroine in director Kannans Telugu-Tamil bilingual. While the Tamil version has been titled Vandhaan Vendran,the Telugu version is yet to get a title. Kannan,who is a successful director in Tamil cinema,has delivered films like Jayam Kondein and Kandein Kathalai.
Nayantara,who was last seen in the Balakrishna-starrer Simha,is at present acting in the Malayalam film Electra and is all set to make her debut in Kannada cinema this year with a film with Upendra.

Prithviraj in Thriller
Prithviraj will play the lead role in Thriller,the next film by B. Unnikrishnan,scenarist-turned-director. B. Unnikrishnan,who has made Smart City and I.G. with Suresh Gopi,Madamby with Mohanlal and Pramani with Mammootty has cast Prithviraj in the role of a daring young Assistant Commissioner of Police,who is out to investigate the murder of a young business man. The film is said to be based on the recent Paul Muthoot murder case. The cast also includes Laloo Aalex,Jagathy Sreekumar,Siddique and Saikumar. Mamta Mohandas will be playing a cameo.

Mohanlal ties up with Ashirwad Films
Actor Mohanlal and Ashirwad Films run by the actors Man Friday Antony Perumbavoor are afoot with big plans for the next three years. Ashirwad Films has plans to be the sole producer and distributor of the actors films,with a tie-up with Mohanlals Max Lab Entertainments on the distribution side. Beginning with the M. Padmakumar-directed Shikaar,Ashirwad will produce and distribute films like Khandahar directed by Major Ravi,Casanova directed by Rosshan Andrrews and China Town directed by Rafi-Mecartin. Also in the pipeline are films by Satyan Anthikkad,Siddique,Shafi,Thampy Kannamthaanam and Renji Panicker.

Jayaram,Rahman,Biju Menon in Seniors
Jayaram,Rahman and Biju Menon will play key roles in Seniors,the next venture by young director Vysakh,whose debut venture Pokkiri Raja is a box-office success. Seniors,to be scripted by the Sachi-Sethu duo,will have four heroes playing the lead roles. The fourth hero is yet to be decided. The film will be produced by P. Rajan under the banner of Vyshakha Films.

Suraaj in K.B.Madhus next
Suraaj Venjaramoodu,one of the leading comedians in Malayalam cinema,will play the lead role in K.B.Madhus Female Unnikrishnan. K.B. Madhu. The filmmaker,began as an independent director with Chithrashalabham,inspired by the Rajesh Khanna starrer Anand and later made Deepasthambham Mahascharyam,Deepangal Sakshi,Vinayapoorvam Vidyadharan and Shambhu.
Jagadeesh,Salim Kumar,Manikuttan,Manianpillai Raju and Devan will play key roles in the film which will feature script by Sudheesh and John and cinematography by M.J. Radhakrishnan.

Darshan in Chingari
Tamil actor Darshan,who has his own fan following in the Kannada film industry,is now all set to act in a film titled Chingari.
To be directed by choreographer-turned-director Harsha,the film borrows the title from a song in Darshans hit movie Gaja. Chingari would be Harshas third Kannada movie,after Geleya and Birugaali. D. Mahadev is the producer of the film,which will feature script by the director himself and music by Harikrishna. Chingari is slated to go on the floors in August.
