The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is set to introduce online current booking for Srivani Trust tickets on a trial basis from January 9. These tickets are special VIP darshan passes offered through the Srivani Trust to donors contributing Rs 10,500 or more per person, and they provide quicker, less crowded darshan at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple on the same day.

The 800 Srivani Trust break darshan tickets currently issued at Tirumala counters will now be made available through online current booking. This is in addition to the existing online quota of 500 tickets released three months in advance. Tickets will be issued online every day at 9 am, with bookings open until 2 pm. Devotees must report at 4 pm for same-day darshan at Tirumala.

After a one-month trial run, a final decision will be taken regarding the overall Srivani darshan timings. The TTD has urged devotees to make use of the online current booking facility to avoid the long wait for tickets.

Temple closed for 10 hours on March 3

The Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala will remain closed for over 10 hours on March 3 due to the lunar eclipse, the TTD announced, advising devotees to plan their ticket bookings and accommodation accordingly.

The eclipse on March 3 will last nearly three and a half hours—from 3.20 pm to 6.47 pm—and, as per tradition, the temple doors will be closed six hours earlier. Accordingly, the temple will remain shut from 9 am to 7.30 pm on March 3.

Devotees will be allowed darshan after the completion of purificatory rituals, beginning at 8.30 pm the same day. In lieu of the eclipse, the TTD has cancelled all other services on the day.
