P Krishna Rao,an engineer working with a private company in the East-West Corridor project in Assam,who was kidnapped by suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland NDFB militants last month,was released on Tuesday,exactly a month after his abduction.The 50-year-old,who hails from Gannavaram in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and is a project manager with Gayathri East Coast Insulators Ltd,was abducted from Kokrajhar district in lower Assam on October 16 was released at Karigaon in the adjoining Bongaigaon district. He boarded a bus and reached Kajalgaon,headquarters of Chirang district,and reported at the police station. The police later shifted him to Guwahati from where he was flown to Hyderabad after a debriefing. While the abductors had slammed a hefty sum as ransom for his release,it was not immediately known whether the company or his family paid a ransom.
