Some got their make-up touched up,others took time off to sketch and write,while still others,newcomers mostly,sat quietly in their corners,soaking in the atmosphere the mood backstage at the Van Heusen India Men8217;s Week 2011 in Delhi last week was a reflection of the whimsies of the fashion world. While the urban sophisticates bond together,the newcomers from smaller towns form their own cliques. Insecurity is a major player,both for the new in business and the old favourites you never know where the next pin-up boy will spring up from. And then there are their women counterparts to contend with too. After all,in the world of modelling,men are the poor country cousins. But amidst it all,the narcissist takes one last peek at the mirror,one last cheeky pirouette before stepping on to the ramp. The first row applauds and the cameras click every move. That8217;s what life beneath the strobe lights is all about.
