Mining in two blocks started: Reliance Power

Even as the coal blocks allocation controversy rages on,Reliance Power on Monday announced it has started production from the two coal mines which are among the 58 blocks being considered by Inter-Ministerial Group for de-allocation.

Moher and Moher-Amlohri blocks were allocated to RPower for its 4,000 MW Sasan UMPP in Madhya Pradesh in 2007.

We will be able to get 20 million tonnes per annum from these mines as a result of our efforts to optimise coal production, Anil Ambani,Chairman of RPower said in a statement.
