Meghalaya to probe encounter

Meghalaya has ordered twin inquiries into the encounter with militants last Wednesday and the subsequent mob fury that forced the release of four arrested terrorists. The government has decided to institute a magisterial inquiry into the encounter and a high level inquiry to ascertain the facts that led to the subsequent protests, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said.
