Bengaluru-based ‘godman’ arrested for selling monitor lizard genitals, other wildlife items online

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Friday arrested a self-styled godman in Bengaluru for allegedly selling monitor lizard genitals online, claiming they had magical powers to influence one’s partner.

The accused, identified as Dakshna Murthy, 45, is also alleged to have traded in soft coral and other wildlife items, operating his business through social media platforms. Sources said he marketed monitor lizard genitals for Rs 10,000 per piece, claiming they could resolve personal relationship issues, while soft coral was sold as a talisman for luck and prosperity.

Investigators revealed that Murthy sourced these wildlife products through contacts in the Hakki Pikki community in Tamil Nadu and other regions. He reportedly had a following of around 25,000 people nationwide, many of whom approached him for personal problems, including love-related matters.
