The strike at Mahindra amp; Mahindras Nashik plant has been called off with workers resuming work from 6:15 pm on Thursday. The workforce went on strike since 6 pm on Tuesday demanding higher wages. Sources from the union said that the strike was called off following the managements promise of finalising higher wages by April 15. The workforce has been demanding for an increase of Rs 36,000 across various levels from the management. Moreover,the management also withdrew suspension of two workers at the plant.
A source in the Mahindra Employee Union said,For now,the management has extended the three-year wage pact,that lapsed on February 5,till April.
