Describing Narendra Modi as someone who “may very well be India’s next prime minister”,an American lawmaker has suggested his government to “reverse” its decision to refuse him a visa and engage him in “dialogue”.

Eni Faleomavaega, who represents American Samoa in the Congress, said this in a submission to the House of Representatives welcoming BJP chief Rajnath Singh’s July 20-28 visit to Washington DC.

“As former chairman and current ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific,I have and will continue to fully support chief minister Modi in his work to lift millions out of poverty by making development a mass movement,” he said. “This extraordinary idea put forward by Modi has the potential to make the world a better place to live and, consequently,it is time for the US to reverse its course and dialogue now with Modi, who may very well be India’s next prime minister.”
