Jordan: Plot to kidnap envoy to Pak

Jordan says its ambassador to Pakistan was the target of a kidnap attempt by militants. Pakistani police announced earlier that they had arrested two highly experienced Taliban militants planning to attack top hotels and kidnap diplomats in Pakistan. The militants identities and the specific targets werent disclosed.

Jordanian Information Minister Nabil Sharif said on Tuesday that its ambassador was the target of the plot,but was now safe. An al-Qaeda double agent who killed seven CIA operatives and a Jordanian agent in Afghanistan in December,had earlier called for attacks on the Jordanian targets in a posthumous message.
