Jaya minister,55 AIADMK workers booked for assaulting DMK man

Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister B Valarmathi and 55 AIADMK workers,including an MLA,have been booked for allegedly damaging property and assaulting a DMK activist while campaigning for the December 4 Yercaud bypoll. The cases were registered under various IPC sections,including 341 wrongful restraint and 324 voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means against Valarmathi,the MLA from Senthamil,and 54 AIADMK workers on Monday night,Salem Range DIG Sanjay Kumar said. The DMK activist has been admitted to hospital. The bypoll was necessitated following the death of AIADMK MLA C Perumal.
