‘Pacified Shatrughan Sinha for 2 years regarding Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal’: Poonam Sinha, says daughter didn’t tell them about relationship

Sonakshi immediately pointed at her mother and said, “Mummy, please don’t lie. You were the first person I told this to. You didn’t tell papa about it.”

She further revealed, “I only got to know about it two years ago, and those two years I used to pacify her dad (Shatrughan Sinha) and make him accept them.” Zaheer added, “But the other five years, she did have a feeling about this.”

Poonam agreed, saying, “Yes, I did know something was fishy when I saw her doing household chores to butter us. Nothing remains hidden from mothers. They know everything.” They were soon joined by Zaheer’s mother, Mumtaz Ratansi, when a curious Farah asked, “When did your mothers meet each other?”

Sonakshi explained, “They met long before our wedding. We had actually arranged a party at Huma Qureshi’s house where we had invited all of our parents. It was their first unofficial introduction kind of meeting. But they didn’t know we were dating.”

Poonam added, “I had a doubt, because I saw Sonakshi sitting by Mumtaz’s feet.” Farah teased, “I know, these kids never sit at their own mother’s feet.”

As the conversation flowed, Poonam announced she would cook Champaran mutton for everyone. Zaheer added warmly, “My mother makes Sindhi Kadhi for Sonakshi, and her mother makes Champaran mutton for me.”

Touched, Farah said, “This is how marriage in India should be.” She then joked about her own mother-in-law, adding, “Someone share this with her please. Tell her to make me some South Indian food sometime.”
