Indian goods to get govt preference

In a move that could give a boost to electronic manufacturing in India,the government on Thursday decided that it would give preference to domestically manufactured goods for its use from now on.

The Union Cabinet approved a proposal in this regard,also specifying that domestic goods would be preferred over foreign ones when it comes to products which have security implications. The government is among the largest buyers of hardware in India.

The government said it has kept in mind the international trade rules while taking the decision.
