IB warns of Maoist threat

The Intelligence Bureau IB sent out alerts to states affected by left-wing extremism,warning them that the CPI-Maoists is mobilising its cadres and is planning to target security forces during Independence Day celebrations.

The Home Ministry warned states in an advisory that the banned group will observe August 15 as 8216;Black Day8217; and may resort to acts of violence by targeting security forces and government properties,including roads,railways and telecommunication infrastructure. The outfit may cause road blockades and target security forces in Chhattisgarh,Jharkhand and Bihar,the advisory claimed.
