R Madhavan quashed rumours suggesting he is jealous of Akshaye Khanna for getting praise for Dhurandhar
Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is enjoying a dream run at the box office. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, but since the release, the film is being celebrated for Akshaye Khanna’s charismatic performance. R Madhavan, who also plays a significant role in the film, had a much smaller part here, and in a recent chat, the actor was asked what he thought about Akshaye walking away with all the limelight. The insinuation started after Madhavan shared a meme where it was implied that Akshaye’s character walked away with all the glory.
During a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Madhavan was questioned if he felt like Akshaye was overshadowing him, the actor said, “Not at all! I cannot be happier for Akshaye. He deserves every bit of the adulation he is getting. What a talented actor! And to be so grounded. He could be giving a million interviews.”
He further added, “But he is sitting in his new home, enjoying the silence that he has always cherished. I mean, I thought I was the underplayer when it came to public attention. But Akshaye Khanna is on another level. He just doesn’t care. Success, failure are all the same to him.”
Madhavan also clarified that for him, just being a part of the spy-thriller was enough. “Just being part of Dhurandhar is enough. The film is making history, and I am glad to be part of it. Neither Akshaye nor the director Aditya Dhar are interested in cashing in on the success,” he said.
Dhurandhar has been written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. The film also features Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Due to its positive word of mouth, Dhurandhar has already crossed Rs 700 crore worldwide, within 15 days of release.
