Husband faults cooking,woman kills self,kid

Criticised by her husband for the way she had cooked dinner,an offended housewife set herself on fire in front of her children on Sunday night,killing not only herself but also her daughter in the process. Her husband and two other children suffered severe burns.

Before the incident,Jyoti Korde 26 and her husband Dilip had quarelled for hours at their Mulund home. Korde had also slapped Jyoti.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone VII,Rajkumar Vatkar said the police will book Korde for abetment to suicide and marital harassment.

Korde 28 worked as a clearing agent with an import-export company. He would be away at work during the day while Jyoti would take care of the three children.

The last time I saw her was yesterday around 8 pm. She didnt seem any different; if something was bothering her it would have shown on her face, said Laxmi Aawari,a neighbour at the Sthanu Society in Mulund West.
