Hong Kong stocks end 1.7 pct higher

Hong Kong stocks posted their third successive daily gain and closed 1.7 pct higher on Friday.

Hong Kong stocks posted their third successive daily gain and closed 1.7 per cent higher on Friday,ending the week in positive territory despite a sharp selloff on Tuesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng index rose 335.34 points to 19,766.71. The China Enterprises Index of top locally listed mainland companies rose 2.67 per cent.

Financial issues led gains,with the industry sub-index closing 2 per cent higher.
