Gujarat only well-governed state: Advani

L K Advani lauded Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for good governance and making the state corruption-free

L K Advani on Sunday lauded Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for good governance and making the state corruption-free,saying the growth of Gujarat was not only the development of the state government but also of the people in the state.

Gujarat is the only state in the country where there is good governance and suraj. This has been possible under the able leadership of Narendra Modi, he said in his first public meeting in Gujarat at Vapi,as part of his Jan Chetna Yatra.

On his yatra,Advani said he has got good support from the people who are fed up of corruption and the yatra has been aimed at preparing them to strive for national development. We will raise the issue of Rs 25 lakh crore black money stashed away in Swiss banks in the winter session of Parliament. This money should be brought back to the country. With this money, development work can be done in six lakh villages across the nation. We will do that if we come to power, he said.

Attacking the Congress,Advani said,The Congress party tried to purchase black money to run the government. I am thankful to those MPs who showed courage to show the black money to the Lok Sabha Speaker. This shows how corrupt the Congress is. Two of the MPs who had shown the money to the Speaker have been sent to jail. And when we stood to raise this issue in Parliament,I was told that I would be sent to jail. My motive behind taking out the yatra is to tell the people that those who are true are sent to jail.

Modi too,in his speech, took on the Centre saying,Inflation is very high. The UPA government has failed in controlling inflation.
