The state government told Bombay High Court on Thursday it had issued a notification in 2008 allowing people in 865 villages in disputed areas bordering Maharashtra and Karnataka to apply for government jobs.
The state government has proposed that marriage palaces across the state will have to pay a minimum of Rs 13.60 lakh per acre and maximum of Rs 1.72 crore per acre as external development charges (EDC),change of land use (CLU) and licensing fees (LF) to the government with retrospective effect.

Jammu, Jan 13 (ANI): Following the demise of chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Wednesday said the BJP will first hold talks with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before any final decision are made regarding the formation of the state government. Singh further emphasised that PDP would soon take a call on the matter and expressed faith that the outcome would be positive.
