Gold surges to Rs 19,084 per 10 gm

Gold prices rose by Rs 113 to Rs 19,084 per ten gram in futures trade on Monday.

Gold prices rose by Rs 113 to Rs 19,084 per ten gram in futures trade on Monday,as speculators enlarged their positions on hopes of a rise in demand in the coming festival and marriage season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange,gold for October month rose by Rs 113,or 0.60 per cent to Rs 19,084 per ten grams,with a business turnover of one one lot.

Similarly,the metal for delivery in December month gained Rs 49,or 0.26 per cent to Rs 19,262 per ten grams with a business turnover of 2 lots.

Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions following pick up in demand in the coming festival and marriage season mainly led to rise in gold prices at futures trade.
