Godrej eyeing turnover of Rs 2700 cr

Company is expecting sales of about Rs 87 crore during Onam,against last year's Rs 43 crore.

Godrej,one of the largest players in the Home Appliances in the country,is targeting a sales turnover of Rs 2,700 crore nationally this year,a company official said.

The company8217;s turnover last year was Rs 2000 crore,Godrej Appliances Assistant Vice President Sales and Marketing Ramesh Chembath. He added that southern states are a good market for Godrej and the industry as it is a high-end market. In Kerala,the company is expecting sales of about Rs 87 crore during Onam,against last year8217;s Rs 43 crore and is targeting a total turnover of Rs 200 crore from the state against Rs 160 crore last year,he added.

Launching the 8216;Onam8217; festival consumer offer,he said on every purchase of a Godrej washing machine,refrigerator,air conditioner,microwave oven or TV,a customer could win gold coins up to 50 grams or exciting assured gift such as 58 cms LCD TV,Timex watch,Cookware or cash back of Rs 100. The offer is valid till September 20.Onam contributes 42 per cent of the overall sales in the state.
