In muggy weather,the last thing you would want is to wear clothes that fit you like second skin. But what you can do instead is to go in for anti-fits and still be in vogue. Caftans are the rage this summer,with a host of Indian designers adding their spin to it. While Tahiliani did floor-length pieces with a billowy silhouette that came in with off-shoulder drapes and shirt collars for his spring-summer collection,Ranna Gill8217;s caftans were more vibrant,with jewelled necklines for a touch of the ornate,that you can team up with jeans or leggings or just on its own for a fancy night out. Delhi designer Sonam Dubal ensured that his creations stood out by hand-painting his silk caftans with Japanese motifs from the Taisho period. 8220;I have used very abstract prints with tile works and they are draped in a way to ensure maximum comfort to the wearer. From wearing it to beaches to teaming it up with denims,it8217;s ideal for the season,8221; he says. While you are at it,go minimal with the jewellery. Caftans work best when you wear just one signature piece of accessory with it.
