Four held in J-K paper leak

Two employees of the J-K Board of School Education (BOSE) are among four people arrested on charges of leaking some question papers of the Class X and XII examinations. Days after the exams,it was found that a number of papers had already been leaked to candidates by some officials.

Sources identified the arrested BOSE officials as Section Officer Mohan Singh Jamwal,incharge of the Board’s strong room where the question papers were kept for safe custody,and Dayal Singh, a special checking assistant. The other two arrested accused are Gurdev Singh and Balbir Singh —- both teachers posted at different government schools in Jammu district. Over 43,000 candidates appeared in Class XII exams while nearly 35,000 candidates took the Class X exams. BOSE has already cancelled the Class XII English B and Chemistry B papers,besides the Science A paper of Class X.
