EC brakes on speeding too

The Road Transport Ministrys proposal to increase speed limits for all classes of vehicles and establish uniform standards for the same across the country has hit a speed-breaker courtesy the Lok Sabha elections. It is learnt that while the ministry had done all its homework on the proposal and was ready to notify the increased speed limits,Union Minister for Road Transport amp; Highways T R Baalu intervened at the last minute to say that it may send out a wrong signal to the voting public and give fodder for political controversy.
