Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit said that invitations for the national executive were sent to all CMs and he expected Modi to attend the session. The invitation for the national executive meet is sent by the headquarters in Delhi. We are merely arranging the meet in Mumbai. I hope Modiji attends the meeting and so do all the members. They are, however, not available for the public rally in the evening, said Purohit.
Top leaders L K Advani,Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj will reach Mumbai on May 23. A public meeting will be held on May 25 evening in Parel. Advani is unlikely to attend the rally but Swaraj will be present.
Leaders are not staying at five star hotels and we are arranging normal Maharashtrian food for the delegates. There is a general opinion that austerity measures should be adopted for this meet, said Purohit. Twenty-three teams of BJP Mumbai members have been formed to organise the meeting.
BJP delegation to meet Governor
Mumbai: A delegation of BJP leaders will meet Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan to present details of the grave drought situation in the state. BJP state spokesperson Madhav Bhandari alleged that the CM was attempting to go back on his word of a white paper on irrigation.
The remark that the Economic Survey is like a white paper and the minister will submit details are indications that the CM is going back on his promise of a white paper. We will continue with our demand for the white paper, said Bhandari.
