The trade union militancy which had of late made its entry into the Keralas crisis-ridden film industry on Monday took a violent turn with a crude bomb going off in a shooting location.
Film Employees Federation of Kerala FEFKA,which has the support of frontline film artistes,has blamed the Federation of Malayalam Cine Technicians Association MACTA,which is affiliated to the CPI8217;s trade union AITUC,for introducing bomb culture in the reel industry to settle scores.
According to the police,crude explosives went off in two SUVs parked at the shooting location of Athmakatha an autobiography at Kuttikkanam in Idukki hill station on Monday morning. Although the vehicles were partially damaged,no one was injured.
A few days ago,the film crew associated with the MACTA had disrupted the shooting of the movie demanding jobs for them. A case has been registered in this regard. AITUC general secretary and MACTA chairman Kanam Rajendran said his outfit had no role in the incident.
