The court hearing arguments on the cash-for-votes scam on Tuesday asked the Tihar Jail and AIIMS authorities to submit separate reports on the current status of Amar Singhs health.
Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal asked both the agencies to send two reports each by Wednesday afternoon,so that they could be considered for deciding Singhs interim bail application, which will be heard on September 15.
Singh, whose regular bail application is to be heard on September 19,has applied for interim bail on medical grounds. He had a kidney transplant at Singapores Mount Elizabeth Hospital in July 2009. His lawyers have argued that he has to go to Singapore for treatment every three-four months. He also suffers from diabetes and had an intestinal resection almost 10 years ago.
The first report that the court has called for from the Tihar Jail authorities is about two tests conducted on Singh inside the jail on September 8. Two days later,he complained of nausea and giddiness, and his blood samples were taken. The court expects that the results of these tests should also be presented before it.
Tihar officials have also been asked to apprise the court of the events of Monday night for the second report. The jail authorities are also directed to furnish a complete report on the medical condition of the accused/applicant which necessitated his shifting to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS on the evening of September 12,2011, said the judge in a nine-page order.
Of the two reports that AIIMS has been asked to submit, the first is the entire medical record of Singh. The second should be about his present condition. Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS shall also send the report of the medical condition of the accused/applicant from the time of his admission in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS and his present medical position positively on or before 12.00 pm on September 14,2011, the order said.
Meanwhile, the court on Tuesday posted the hearing on the regular bail application of Singhs co-accused,two former BJP MPs Mahabir Singh Bhagora and Faggan Singh Kulaste, for September 29.
