Cong hits back at BJP,points to Karnataka poll results

Rejecting the BJPs demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs resignation over coal block allocations, the Congress Saturday advised opposition party to do self-introspection.

Rejecting the BJPs demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs resignation over coal block allocations, the Congress Saturday advised opposition party to do self-introspection.

The logical culmination of the verdict in Karnataka should be a serious and sober introspection of BJPs politics and philosophy over the past nine years. Having failed as a responsible opposition, one shudders to think of the fate of the nation in the unlikely eventuality of them being on the treasury benches. Fortunately, the wise people of India would never let this travesty take place again, said Iamp;B Minister Manish Tewari.

Digvijaya Singh termed the resignation of Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ashwani Kumar as appropriate and took a dig at the opposition party saying,This has never been the character of the BJP.

Party spokesman Bhakta Charan Das said,How many months had BJP taken to decide the fate of Nitin Gadkari,B S Yeddyurappa and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank when their resignations were sought after corruption charges? BJP has nothing else to do except demanding resignations.

BJP did not get any benefit from the drama of resignation it played in Parliament. Rather,it had to suffer losses in Karnataka. BJP should now gracefully accept its defeat and work to strengthen its organisation rather than making such demands, Das said.
