A computer shop owner,who visited Girgaum Chowpatty early on November 27,2008,after the death of terrorist Abu Ismail Khan and the arrest of Ajmal Amir Kasab,on Thursday deposed in the court on how the police seized the weapons and explosives from the hijacked car in his presence.
The police recovered a hand grenade,two AK-47 rifles,one steel chain,two pistols and over 50 live rounds of both rifle and pistol, said Shashikant Pawar,who owns a computer shop near the DB Marg police station.
The 10th witness to depose before the Special Sessions Court,he identified all these articles which,the prosecution said,the two terrorists intended to use in their attack on Malabar Hill.
The prosecution is leading the evidence according to incidents. The first incident,which it wants to prove,is the arrest of Kasab and gunning down of his partner. The prosecution has so far examined three eyewitnesses,including police officer Sanjay Govilkar who suffered a bullet injury while nabbing Kasab along with colleague Tukaram Omble,who was killed in the incident.
The court also examined two other witnesses on Thursday officer Rajendra Godse of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad,who had defused the hand grenade seized from a jacket found in the car,and Dr Shirish Bhagwat,a surgeon at the Harkishandas Hospital,who had treated Govilkar.
