China shares end up 0.3 pct

China8217;s main stock index closed up 0.3 per cent on Tuesday as investors snapped up bank shares before earnings announcements begin later this week for the country8217;s biggest banks.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended at 2,919.1 points,after a 0.1 per cent rise on Monday. The financial sub-index closed up 1.3 per cent. Bank of China,due to report yearly results on Thursday,closed up 0.6 per cent.
