CBI pulled up for delay in FIR against Verma

The CBI informed the court that it had not been able to file an FIR owing to the voluminous nature of the evidence.

A Special CBI court on Saturday pulled up the CBI for delaying the registration of an FIR against arms dealer Abhishek Verma and six others in a complaint case filed by a Cyprus-based company,which has alleged that Verma had cheated it of around Rs 5 crore and used the funds to bribe officials in the Defence and Home ministries here.

The CBI on Saturday informed the court that it had not been able to file an FIR owing to the voluminous nature of the evidence.

The CBI representative in the court was pulled up for delaying the FIR and not acting upon the courts orders.
