Taliban kill Afghan officers minor son
KANDAHAR: Kidnappers believed to be Taliban abducted the 8-year-old son of a police officer in Afghanistan and killed him during the weekend,in apparent retaliation for the fathers refusal to give them his police truck. The boys father,Mohammed Daoud,36,is a driver for the local police commander in the Gereshk District in Helmand Province.
Israeli orchestra to play Wagner
BERLIN: An Israeli orchestra is set to perform a work by Adolf Hitlers favorite composer,Richard Wagner,in a taboo-breaking concert in Germany. The Israel Chamber Orchestras concert alongside the annual Bayreuth opera festival Tuesday will mark the first time an Israeli orchestra has played Wagner in Germany,Bayreuth cultural affairs department said.

Vatican recalls its envoy to Ireland
VATICAN CITY: The Vatican has recalled its ambassador to Ireland following accusations the Vatican sabotaged efforts by Catholic bishops to report clerical sex abuse cases to police. Eamon Gilmore,the foreign minister of Ireland,a predominantly Catholic country,had summoned ambassador Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza about two weeks ago and demanded an official response from the Vatican. Vatican Radio said Monday Leanza has been recalled to Rome.
