Nepal extends UN human right bodys term

KATHMANDU: The government Sunday decided to extend the tenure of The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights by a year as the UN body finally agreed to accept the reduced size and mandate in Nepal. The decision to extend the term was approved by the Cabinet just 72 hours before the incumbent tenure was to come to an end.

Top Moscow cop held for taking bribe

MOSCOW: A top Moscow cop,involved in a recent raid on Indian textile traders has been caught accepting bribe of 500,000 for closing an unrelated smuggling case. Deputy Head of transport related investigation department,Grigory Dymovets,was held last week after taking a bribe from a businessman.
