DHAKA: Police on Sunday arrested Jamaat-e-Islami leader and media doyen Mir Kashem Ali for his suspected role in crimes against humanity during the 1971 liberation war. Ali was arrested from the office of the Naya Diganta newspaper. The development came hours after the International Crimes Tribunal-1 issued the warrant against Ali.

Wolves kill worker at Swedish wildlife park

STOCKHOLM: A pack of wolves killed a worker in their enclosure at Kolmarden wildlife park on Sunday,said police,who did not know what had triggered the attack on the 30-year-old woman. She was so badly hurt in the attack that she died of her injuries,said a police spokesman for the Ostergotland district.

Gilani,Kayani to attend Nayef funeral

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani left for Saudi Arabia Sunday to attend the funeral of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz al Saud. The funeral of Prince Nayef,who died Saturday,was to be held at Mecca.
