Woman burnt alive in Bihar

PATNA: An 18-year-old woman was burnt to death in Nawada district allegedly by the family members of her fiance Mohammed Vakil. Nawada Sadar Deputy SP Shaharyar Khan said that Vakils father Mohammed Mumtaz and brother-in-law Mohammed Chand entered Sahnis house on Tuesday and allegedly set her afire. Sahni succumbed to her injuries at a government hospital.

Court rejects Facebook plea

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed a petition by Facebook India for dropping its name from a civil suit against various social networking websites for allegedly hosting objectionable content. Administrative Civil Judge Parveen Singh rejected Facebook Indias plea and posted the matter for further hearing on June 4.

6 AIIMS-like centres next year,says Azad

NEW DELHI: Six new AIIMS with initial capacity of 1,000 beds would start functioning next year,Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday after laying the foundation stone of a AIIMS outreach OPD centre in Badshah village. The institutions modelled on AIIMS are located in Bhopal,Bhubaneswar,Jodhpur,Patna,Raipur and Rishikesh and will have medical and nursing colleges.
