CBI to probe Manipur youths death

NEW DELHI: The CBI will probe the murder of a 20-year-old Manipuri youth,Irom Roger Singh,allegedly by the son of a state minister in Imphal. The decision came at the initiative of Home Minister P Chidambaram who was urged last week by Singhs parents to hand over the case to the CBI.

Cross-examination of Bhatt on May 16

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Government-appointed Justices Retired G T Nanavati and Akshay Mehta Commission on Monday allowed the cross-examination of IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt in connection with his affidavit filed before the Supreme Court. The cross-examination will take place on May 16.

LUCKNOW: The ruling BSP in Uttar Pradesh on Monday received a jolt ahead of next years Assembly elections when its Msauli MLA Farid Mahafooz Kidwai joined the SP. Cop booked for raping airline staff

Mumbai: A police sub-inspector has been booked on charges of raping a 21-year-old working in an airline and extorting money from her,the police said on Monday. The accused,identified as Manoj Londe,was booked on the charges of rape and extortion following the complaint filed by the victim. Police said Londe is yet to be arrested.
