White tiger dies in Jharkhand zoo

BOKARO JHARKHAND: A white tiger of Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park in Bokaro died of cancer,park authorities said on Monday. The 10-year-old tiger died on Sunday after suffering from mouth cancer for the last six months,sources said.

SC grants bail to cop accused in Telgi case

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to an accused languishing in jail in connection with Telgi stamp papers scam for more than six years due to the failure of CBI to get the trial initiated. He has been in jail for more than six years. You CBI have not started the trial. Pirates hijack vessel with 19 Indians

NEW DELHI: In yet another strike,Somali pirates have seized one more vessel with 22 crew,including 19 Indians,on board in the Gulf of Aden. With the seizure,the number of Indians held hostage by pirates has gone up to 57. We have received information that a chemical tanker M V Marida Marguerite with 22 crew members 19 Indians,2 Bangladeshis and 1 Ukrainian has been hijacked on Sunday, a senior official said.

RJD leader,wife shot dead in Bihar

CHAPRA BIHAR: The RJD Saran District vice-president Janardhan Singh and his wife Prabhabati Devi were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Saran district,police sources said on Monday. Four gunmen stormed their house at Manjhi on Sunday night and shot them dead,sources said. A land dispute was said to be the probable cause behind the killing.

BSF,Customs seize Phensedyl

AGARTALA: The BSF and Custom officials in a joint raid seized a huge quantity of Phensedyl from a truck near Gakulnagar in West Tripura district,the police said on Monday. Officials on Sunday stopped a truck and seized 21,000 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs 15.54 lakh. The driver and another passenger were arrested.

FIR ordered against Lalus brother-in-law

PATNA: A Bihar court on Monday ordered registration of an FIR against RJD supremo Lalu Prasads brother-in-law and Rajya Sabha member Subhash Prasad Yadav,his wife Renu Devi and three others on the charge of kidnapping a liquor shop employee here. Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Singh took cognizance of the complaint filed by Umesh Singh,who alleged that the five kidnapped him when he had gone to demand payment.

Mulayams cousin commits suicide

ETAWAH UP: Cousin brother of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav,Pooran Singh Yadav,on Monday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence here,the police said. Yadav 30,a former state president of Lohia Vahini,shot himself in the temple with his pistol,they said. A family problem was said to have forced him to take this step. ENSamp;PTI
