Another death in Jodhpur hospital; supdt resigns

JODHPUR: Amid a controversy over another death,Superintendent of Jodhpurs Umaid Hospital,where 17 maternal deaths took place in the past few months,on Thursday resigned from the post and also sought voluntary retirement. Chief Controller of the hospitals R K Aseri said,We have forwarded the applications to the state government. Another woman died due to excessive bleeding in the hospital Wednesday.

Siachen talks to start on Monday

New Delhi: After a gap of three years,India will resume Defence Secretary-level talks on the Siachen issue with Pakistan on Monday. The 12th round of talks will commence in New Delhi and will be led by Pradeep Kumar from India and Lt Gen retd Syed Ather Ali from Pakistan. The two-day talks will take off from an earlier meeting held prior to 26/11.

Moradabad goes for solar energy

LUCKNOW: Moradabad is all set to become the states first solar city. The project,supported by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy,will have the city utilising solar energy for supplying power for streetlights,water pumping sources,lighting in parks and supply of office lighting.

One held for Madan Tamang murder

KOLKATA: The CBI on Thursday arrested Dipen Mallya,central committee member of GJMs youth wing,in connection with the Madan Tamang murder case. Mallya was picked up from Darjeeling on Wednesday.
