Idea Cellular gets unified licence for seven circles
New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications has awarded unified licence to Idea Cellular for seven circles,a source said on Sunday. The company has been awarded licences for Assam,West Bengal,Kolkata,North East,Tamil Nadu,Jammu and Kashmir and Orissa. The company had applied for licences in seven circles after it emerged as the second biggest winner in the November 2012 spectrum auction.
Govt seeks applications for three CCI members
NEW DELHi: The Competition Commission of India CCI,which keeps a watch on unfair trade practices,will have three new members over the next few months as the government has invited applications for the positions. While the post of one member has been lying vacant since June,two members are to retire in March and April next year. The applications have been sought by the corporate affairs ministry.
BSE plans currency futures by November
New Delhi: The BSE plans to launch the currency futures platform,which will utilise new advanced trading technology,by end of November. The stock exchange has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India to start trading in currency futures.
Trai finds 87 dip in complaints on VAS
NEW DELHI: The number of complaints made against wrong activation of value added services like caller tunes has declined by about 87 per cent since July when Trai issued directions to operators for stopping such practices,the regulator said. PTI
