In a setback to his professed policy of transparency in governance,Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandys two personal staff members were caught on camera for allegedly taking bribe.

The visuals were noticed at the CMs office during a routine security checking. The officials were last-grade government employees on deputation. In their capacity, they were privy to movement of various files in the office.

A release from the CMs office said two peons were removed from the service. While one of them was removed for dereliction of duty, the other was shifted as part of normal transfer,it said.

Last year,Chandy had begun live webcasting of his office and chamber as a mark of transparency in his functioning. Now,the webcasting is disabled for maintenance.
