The government said that state-run power equipment maker BHEL8217;s industry sector business recorded a growth of 40 per cent at Rs 14,366 crore in 2009-10,over the previous fiscal.
8220;The industry sector business segment has recorded an all-time high growth of 40 per cent in 2009-10 over the previous year,8221; a statement from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises said.
8220;Out of the total order booking of Rs 59,031 crore by BHEL in 2009-10,its industry business segment contributed to an order inflow of Rs 14,366 crore,8221; it added.
In 2009-10,the major orders bagged by BHEL included that for a captive power plant of Rs 3,348 crore from Indian Oil for its co-generation power plant in Orissa.
Significantly,in the transportation segment,BHEL bagged the single-largest order worth Rs 990 crore for 150 electric locomotives from Indian Railways.
