The audio launch for Don Seenu,which stars in lead roles Ravi Teja and Shriya,was held in Hyderabad on July 22. Directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Venkat,Don Seenu is a high budget movie with all ingredients to make it a commercial entertainer. The audio launch function,held in style at the Taj Deccan,Hyderabad,was attended by prominent film personalities.
Don Seenu is likely to hit screens on August 1. While Srihari plays a key role,the film also has in the cast Sayaji Shinde,Nasser,Bramhaji,Bramhanandam,Ali,Krishna Bagwan,Sunil,Raghu Babu. Mani Sharma is in charge of the music.
Prithviraj turns producer with Urumi
Prithviraj,who is already popular all over the South as a dashing young star,turns producer. He joins hands with Santhosh Sivan and Shaji Natesan in producing the film Urumi,which is to be directed by Santhosh Sivan himself. The film will be made under the banner of August Cinema.
Urumi,which is a period film that dates back to the time when Vasco Da Gama landed in Kerala,has Prithviraj and Genelia in lead roles. The plot reportedly is woven around an assassination attempt made on Vasco Da Gama. The multilingual film was launched recently in Kochi in the presence of popular film personalities including Mammootty,Ranjith,Joshiy,Blessy,Sibi Malayil,Kamal,Lenin Rajendran,Shaji Kailas,Lal,Viji Thampy,Renji Panicker,Gokulam Gopalan,Liberty Basheer,Manianpilla Raju,Indrajith and others.
Suriya watches Singam in Bengaluru
Suriya was in Bengaluru to attend the launch of Joggaiya,the 100th film of Shivarajkumar,who is his friend. The actor also went to Urvashi theatre in the city and watched his recently released Singam,which is doing very well all over the South. Die-hard fans of the actor were only too happy to see him there and were enthralled watching the film in his presence.
Singam,directed by Linguswamy,has Suriya playing a dare-all kind of cop,who never thinks twice in the course of doing his duty. It was after watching the film that Suriya went to attend the launch of Joggaiya,which coincided with the birthday celebrations of Shivarajkumar.
Komaram Puli likely on August 11
The much awaited Telugu film Komaram Puli is now likely to hit screens on August 11. Starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead,the film has director S.J. Suryah and Pawan Kalyan teaming up after a gap of about a decade. They had teamed up last in Kushi,which was released in 2001.
The audio release of the film was held on July 11 in Hyderabad,enthralling fans of the Power Star,who plays a cop in the film. Komaram Puli is almost ready and the promos are already creating the hype thats needed for the film.
A major attraction of Komaram Puli is music by A.R.Rahmanwhich is doing well.
Komaram Puli has Nikisha Patel as the heroine and also has in the cast Manoj Bajpai,Charan Raj,Nassar,Jyothi Krishna,Bhrahmaji,Ali and Girish Karnad. Produced by Singanamala Ramesh on a budget of over Rs 40 Crores,the film will be brought to the theatres by Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts.
Simbu- Bharath in Vaanam
Simbu and Bharath will be playing the key roles in Vaanam,which is the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Vedham. Directed by Krish Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi,Vedham had Allu Arjun,Manchu Manoj and Anushka Shetty in key roles. While Allu Arjun played a cable worker,Anushka played a sex worker. Simbu will do the role of the cable guy in Tamil while the heroine will be a new face,which is yet to be decided. Earlier it was being said that Manchu Manoj will play the role that he had played in Telugu also. However,Bharath has been finalised for the role. The role is that of a guy who aspires to be a rock star. Krish himself will be directing the Tamil version. Anushka will reportedly do an item number in Vaanam,which will have Neerav Shah as the cinematographer.
