The Asian Development Bank ADB has become more optimistic about Asias economic growth next year. It now expects the GDP of Asias developing and emerging economies to grow by 6.4 in 2010,up from its prediction of 6 in March. The ADB previously expected Chinas economy to grow by a robust 8 in 2010,but has now increased its projection to a shade under 9. Indias predicted growth rate in 2010 has also been revised upwards,by half a percentage point to 7. But the ADB now reckons that Pakistans economy will expand by only 3,a full percentage point lower than its previous estimate. And Armenias economy will grow by a paltry 0.9 next year,a big downgrade from the 3 predicted earlier this year.
