Ashton Kutcher invests in tech start-up company

Ashton Kutcher has thrown his financial support behind a start-up that allows users to make payments with smartphones.

8220;Two and A Half Men8221; star Ashton Kutcher has thrown his financial support behind a new technological start-up company,which allows users to make payments with their smartphones.

The 34-year-old actor8217;s venture capital company A-Grade Investments has teamed up with four other investors to help finance Iowa-based firm Dwolla,which aims to enable users to transfer money or pay for items with their mobile phone for a flat fee of 25 cents per transaction,reported Contactmusic.

Kutcher says he is excited about the new business venture.

8220;I think this company could employ hundreds of people within the next couple of years. The potential for Dwolla is to be the backbone for the global financial exchange. Because it8217;s built to do that. It8217;s built better than any system that currently exists,8221; he said.

The Cedar Rapids native has backed a number of forward-thinking companies in recent years,among them social networking site Foursquare and video calling corporation Skype.
