The military establishment is a little disappointed that the political leadership chose to stay away from the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Kargil battle, that was organised in Drass. While serving officers dont air their views publicly, several former officers and ex-servicemens organisations have objected to the fact that nobody from the political establishment is going for the function. This prompted the Defence Ministry to announce that A K Antony would lay a wreath at India Gate to mark the event. But another person who is giving the celebrations a miss is Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor, who is on a trip to the US.
