Andhra Bank Q2 net profit up 4

The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 303 crore in the July-September quarter of 2010.

Public sector lender Andhra Bank today reported a marginal increase of 4 per cent in net profit at Rs 316 crore for the second quarter ended September 30,2011.

The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 303 crore in the July-September quarter of 2010.

The total income of the bank during the quarter rose to Rs 2,960.32 crore from Rs 2,732.23 crore in the same period last fiscal,Andhra Bank said in a filing to the BSE.

During the first six months of the current fiscal,the net profit of the lender improved by 12.5 per cent to Rs 706.8 crore from Rs 623.3 crore in the corresponding period of 2010-11,it said.

The bank8217;s total income during the first half of 2011-12 rose to Rs 5,811.8 crore from Rs 4,205.5 crore in the April-September period last year.
