AICC offices shut

With the Congress leadership preoccupied with bigger issues of governance, the partys cells and departments at the AICC headquarters remain unmanned. After the exit of its chairman Yogendra Makwana from the party recently, the AICC Scheduled Castes department has almost ceased to function. The office of the partys Scheduled Tribes department, headed by Ajit Jogi, remains locked. And although Dr Karan Singh, chairman of the foreign affairs cell, visits the office every Saturday for an hour or so,there is hardly any activity during the rest of the week. The office does not even have copies of the MoUs signed by the Congress with other parties from different countries. Shamsher Singh Surjewala has shown little interest as the All India Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress chief. Similarly, the chairman of the AICCs ex-servicemens cell,K P Singh Deo,is rarely seen at the office. Apparently, aware of the state of affairs in these cells and departments, the partys manifesto committee has not found it necessary to involve them in the exercise.
